Our Story
The Beacon Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization founded in 2021 in Chester, South Carolina. We serve the Piedmont Tri-County area of South Carolina and Mecklenburg County in North Carolina.
The initial idea derived from Mr. Frank Nash, a resident of Chester, South Carolina. Frank had a vision to create a mentoring program to focus on the developmental needs of young males in the Chester County area. Additionally, he wanted the Beacon Foundation to be a philanthropic organization that would support the entire community, but it would have a strategic focus to support African Americans by providing programing and resources to target the social determinates of health, literacy improvements, art appreciation, business development and the preservation of black history and culture in our communities.
